About
Also known as: Dilin Nair
Raftaar, born Dilin Nair, is one of the most versatile figures in Indian hip hop, equally at home rapping, producing, and even dancing competitively on reality TV. His breakout came with "Swag Mera Desi" in 2013 alongside Manj Musik, a track that won Best Urban Song at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards and famously sparked a public beef with Yo Yo Honey Singh. The song put him on the map in a big way, and he followed it up with the massive "All Black" and the Bollywood hit "Toh Dishoom" from the film of the same name. Beyond his own releases, Raftaar founded the record label KALAMKAAR in 2017, nurturing acts like KR$NA and Rashmeet Kaur. His debut album Zero To Infinity and follow up Mr. Nair showcased his range, while his well publicised rap battle with Emiway Bantai helped push desi hip hop further into the mainstream. More recently he has kept busy with the Hard Drive series, a collaborative EP with Prabh Deep titled PRAA, and stints as a judge on MTV Hustle and other major Indian reality shows.
