Randy Wieland, performing as Ran D, is a Dutch hardstyle DJ and producer from Zeeland whose hardstyle cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie" became something genuinely unusual: a track that crossed over from the hardcore festival circuit into the mainstream EDM world. Artists like Armin van Buuren, Hardwell and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike started spinning it, and it racked up over 150 million streams each on Spotify and YouTube. In Q Dance's end of decade fan vote, it landed at number 11 of all time in hardstyle, and many people point to it as their entry point into the genre. Ran D co founded the hardstyle label Roughstate Music in 2015 alongside Adaro, Frequencerz and B Front, giving the raw hardstyle sound a proper home base. His Roughstate labelmate Adaro is also his partner in the duo Gunz for Hire. Beyond "Zombie", his track "Hurricane" won first place in the 2018 Q Dance Top 100 and pulled in nearly 70 million YouTube streams. He has played virtually every major hardstyle event going, from Defqon.1 across multiple continents to Qlimax, and in 2017 Q Dance gave him his own X Qlusive night at AFAS Live in Amsterdam.
