About
Also known as: Jordan Cardy, RATBOY
Rat Boy's first release, The Mixtape, was recorded at home and uploaded to SoundCloud, and it was good enough to land a record deal and get played on BBC Radio 1. Jordan Cardy mixes hip hop with indie rock, tells stories in his lyrics and samples bits of conversation and noise from his everyday life. He records and produces his own tracks and makes all his own album art, with the Clash and the Streets among his big influences. Things moved fast. He won Best New Artist at the NME Awards, his song "Knock Knock Knock" was sampled by Kendrick Lamar on "Lust", and his 2017 debut album Scum reached No. 15 in the UK. Since then he has put out Internationally Unknown and Suburbia Calling, and under the name IBDY he wrote songs for Cyberpunk 2077, one of which, "Who's Ready for Tomorrow", ended up all over the Edgerunners anime.
