About
Regressive Hypnosis are a Dutch tribute act dedicated to Dream Theater, and by their own account the most active of their kind in Europe. The group formed in 2019 and began performing live towards the end of 2023, building a reputation around detailed recreations of Dream Theater's progressive metal catalogue. Their early shows focused on the classic album Images and Words, but they have since developed a more ambitious concept centred on Octavarium, the 2005 Dream Theater record. Rather than playing that album straight through, they construct a setlist that mirrors its rising key structure, tracing a musical journey from F back to F in the same cyclical spirit as the original. The result leans heavily on technical precision, extended solos and visual production, aiming to turn a tribute show into something closer to a full theatrical experience.
