About
Remember Remember started as a one man show, with Glasgow's Graeme Ronald layering up instruments and reaching for some very unusual percussion: scissors, cutlery, coffee spoons, lighters and matches. The 2008 self titled debut was mostly his work, with a few guests including James Hamilton of Errors. Over time the project grew into a seven piece band, and that fuller lineup delivered the RR Scorpii EP in 2010 and the album The Quickening in 2011, which featured RM Hubbert. Everything they did was instrumental, and Ronald was upfront about why: without a singer, the music has to carry the whole weight. People called them post rock, but he pushed back on the guitar heavy association, since the band used a far wider range of instruments. They put out their records on Rock Action, the label run by fellow Glasgow band Mogwai, and toured with them too. A third album, Forgetting the Present, arrived in 2014, and the band wrapped up in 2015.
