About
Under the name RL Grime, Henry Steinway has built a reputation as one of trap music's most distinctive voices, blending heavy bass with electronic production that hits hard in festival settings. He got his start with the WeDidIt collective in Los Angeles, releasing the Grapes EP in 2012, and quickly made noise with a remix of Kanye West's "Mercy" that racked up over eight million SoundCloud plays. His High Beams EP landed at number one on the iTunes Electronic chart and cracked the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums top ten. One of his longest running traditions is his annual Halloween mix, dropping every October since 2012, featuring celebrity vocal cameos from the likes of Jack Black, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Shaquille O'Neal. His 2018 album Nova featured collaborators including Miguel, Julia Michaels and Chief Keef, with one track built from an unused Jack Ü demo that Diplo passed his way. In 2019 he launched his own label, Sable Valley, and followed it years later with the album PLAY in 2023.
