About
Robert Lester Folsom is an American singer songwriter from Georgia whose reputation rests almost entirely on a single record: Music and Dreams, released in 1976. The album blends sunny folk and soft rock with lyrics that carry a melancholic undercurrent, a combination that found a devoted audience among connoisseurs even though it sold poorly at the time. Fans of America, Bread and Todd Rundgren tend to find a lot to love here. Folsom largely faded from view after that debut, but a rediscovery around 2010 brought him back into the conversation. Three albums of previously unreleased demo recordings surfaced in the wake of that renewed interest, giving longtime admirers and new listeners alike a deeper look at his work. Music and Dreams has since been reissued as a double LP, with the restored original album on the first record and a collection of demos and covers on the second.
