About
Robert van Deelen is a young Dutch organist, born in 2005, who already juggles a busy mix of playing, teaching and studying. He got his first organ lessons at ten and moved on to a second teacher two years later, one who also got him ready for conservatoire. Since September 2023 he has studied with Matthias Havinga at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Beyond the classroom he works as a church organist for the Hervormde Gemeente van Overberg and at the Brugkerk in Veenendaal. He has also picked up experience as a choir pianist and has taken part in several competitions. At the Brugkerk's Lindsen organ he teaches both beginners and more advanced players, covering the basics of organ technique, reading music, repertoire playing and, where it fits, church service playing.
