About
Denver's Rorschach Test built their sound around a grinding mix of industrial noise and heavy metal, drawing clear lines back to Ministry and Skinny Puppy while keeping enough conventional metal crunch to appeal beyond the synth and samples crowd. Formed by James Baker, the band eventually relocated to Seattle, where they signed with Chicago label Slip Disc Records and carved out a solid reputation on the road, sharing stages with Korn, Type O Negative, Queensrÿche, and the Genitorturers. Their third album Peace Minus One landed them a top ten spot on the CMJ Metal chart and earned a glowing write up from CMJ New Music Report, which called it "one part raw metal, one part industrial, sharper than a bag full of razor blades." After splitting up in 2002, the band eventually reformed following a hiatus of more than ten years, with new material under the title American EyeDull in the works.
