About
Roseanna Reid sounds nothing like where she's from. She's a Scottish Highlander with a worn, slightly cracked voice that sits somewhere between a young Bonnie Raitt and Aimee Mann, and she names Martha Wainwright as one of her big influences. Her songs are plainspoken but packed with meaning, and she writes openly about love between women. Her debut album, Trails, was recorded in Brooklyn with a hand picked team of players and produced by Teddy Thompson. Steve Earle is a fan and sings on the record. She's also the eldest daughter of Craig Reid of The Proclaimers, though her own music goes a very different way. She plays both solo and as a duo.
