Rytmus, born Patrik Vrbovský, has been one of Slovakia's most recognizable rap figures since the early 1990s. He co founded the Slovak hip hop group Kontrafakt and built a solo career with albums like Bengoro, Král, and Fenomén, the last of which made him the most searched Slovak singer on YouTube in 2011. His feature on the track "Technotronic Flow" hit number one on the Slovak charts that same year, and his 2008 compilation Si zabil shifted over 4,000 copies in its first week, earning a gold record. Beyond the studio, Rytmus became a household name through his stints as a judge on talent shows SuperStar and Hlas Česko Slovenska. His 2016 album Krstný Otec, which translates to Godfather, was recorded across two locations in Slovakia. He came back in 2023 with Bengoro 2, a follow up to the album that started his solo run, complete with the lead single "Bengoro je spátky".
