About
Saba Alizadeh plays the Kamancheh, an ancient Persian bowed instrument, and through live processing and electronic manipulation he transforms its raw, searching sound into something he and his collaborators call Power Ambient. He comes from a distinguished musical lineage and has spent over two decades working as a composer, producer, and performer, releasing four albums that move between contemporary composition, experimental electronics, and Persian classical traditions. Growing up amid defining political moments, from the Green Movement to the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising in Iran, he channels history and collective memory directly into sound rather than commenting on it from a distance. His live performances have the quality of lost film fragments, dense and physical, drawing on archival recordings and cinematic tension. Farzané, full name Farzaneh Nouri, is an Iranian sound artist, creative coder, and researcher based in the Netherlands. Her work sits at the crossroads of experimental music and computer science, with a practice built around embodied knowledge and improvisation with machines. Rather than treating AI as a neutral tool, she engages with its fundamental otherness to create conditions of genuine encounter and what she calls collaborative destabilisation between herself and the machine.
