Saint Avangeline, the Atlanta based singer songwriter who records under the name Lily Adeline Troutman, builds her sound around dark, ethereal alternative pop soaked in gothic imagery, 19th century poetry, and the visual world of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood. Her 2022 debut Gardener of Eden put her on the map via the single "Lilith", a haunting meditation on toxic relationships and trauma that used the biblical figure as a symbol of beauty and danger and racked up over 56 million streams after going viral on TikTok and Instagram. Her 2024 sophomore record Inferno pushed into harder territory, pulling in metal and screamo influences alongside her signature dreamy atmospherics. She writes fast and emotionally, describing her lyrics as stream of consciousness knocked out in about twenty minutes, treating each song like a page from a private diary. In 2025 she kept the momentum going with a run of singles including the cinematic "Rain Dance", the raw "Carolina Creature", and a team up with Adam Bravin of She Wants Revenge to form the darkwave duo The Death of Lilies.
