About
Sam Bailey is the kind of X Factor winner who genuinely silenced the sceptics. She took the tenth series in 2013 with a jaw dropping run that saw her top the public vote seven out of ten weeks, and her winner's single, a cover of Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper", sold 149,000 copies in its first week to land the Christmas number one. It was the first time an X Factor winner had claimed that spot in three years. Her debut album, The Power of Love, followed in March 2014 and went straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart. It mixed cover versions with original material and even featured a duet with Michael Bolton. She also got to open for Beyoncé on The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, and went out on her own headline tour in early 2015. A reissue of the album landed in December 2014, adding five new tracks including three Christmas covers.
