About
Samara Cyn, the Murfreesboro born rapper and songwriter, turned heads fast after her 2024 debut EP The Drive Home earned co signs from both Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, which is not a bad start. She went on to open for Nas on his Illmatic 30th anniversary tour in London and performed alongside Hill at Jazz in the Gardens in Miami. Her second EP, Backroads, dropped in June 2025 and showed she was no fluke, landing on best of lists from Spin, Hypebeast, and Billboard, with the Smino featuring single "Brand New Teeth" as a highlight. That same year she was selected for the XXL freshman class and made her late night debut on The Daily Show. Her third EP, Detour, arrived in March 2026, and Billboard recognized her with their 2026 Hip Hop Rising Star award.
