Sammy Virji moves between bassline, UK garage and house with a fluency that makes the whole thing feel effortless, and his DJ sets have a reputation for being genuinely unhinged in the best way. The Oxford raised producer first built a following in the bassline scene from 2015, then pivoted to UK garage, releasing early tracks on Conducta's Kiwi Rekords label before his 2020 debut album Spice Up My Life reached No. 7 on the UK Dance Albums Chart. A DJ Mag set in 2023 went properly viral on TikTok, partly thanks to him cueing a track with a rubber fish, and partly because the fire alarm went off mid set from the sheer volume of sweat in the room. His second album, Same Day Cleaning, arrived in September 2025, pulling in MJ Cole, Skepta and Tuff Jam as collaborators. Recent releases include the track Cops and Robbers with Skepta and 925 with Chris Lake, and a full set filmed in Tokyo shows he has been taking things well beyond the UK.
