About
Samsons kicked off their run in Jakarta back in 2003 and wasted little time making an impression. Their debut album Naluri Lelaki sold over 1.1 million copies and swept the Indonesian Music Awards in 2006, picking up Best Newcomer, Best Group/Duo, Best Song, and Best Album in one night. The follow up, Penantian Hidup, kept the momentum going with singles that topped both Indonesian and Malaysian radio charts. Their self titled third album went even bigger, shifting over 4 million copies across physical and digital formats. The band records in a pop rock style that sits comfortably across Indonesian and Malay markets, and they have shown a knack for staying relevant through lineup shifts. After vocalist Aria Dinata's exit, Adrian Martadinata stepped in during early 2022, and the band dropped two new singles, Rayu and Rasa yang Salah, shortly after.
