About
Saron Crenshaw has been a fixture in the blues and jazz scene around New York since the 1970s, and that long run of dedication earned him a place in the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011. He plays a Gibson Lucille guitar signed by B.B. King, who also asked him to open on his shows, as did Robert Cray. Artists like Bobby Rush, Denise LaSalle and Tyrone Davis have all spoken highly of him, which gives you a sense of the circles he moves in. His style sits at the crossroads of blues and soul, delivered through a warm voice and guitar playing that feels deeply rooted. With his European band Blind B & The Visionaires he recorded the live album Goin To The Get Deep, and his double album Drivin features ten tracks all written by himself. His concerts are known for being interactive affairs, with Crenshaw regularly stepping into the crowd to play.
