About
Also known as: Saves The Day
Saves the Day built their reputation on the kind of emotionally charged pop punk that gets scrawled into notebook margins, and their 2001 album Stay What You Are is still the record most fans point to first. It sold 200,000 copies, put them on MTV2 with the singles "At Your Funeral" and "Freakish", and landed them TV spots on Conan O'Brien and The Late Late Show. The major label dream followed, with DreamWorks signing them for In Reverie in 2003, though the label famously dropped them just days after release. Through it all, Chris Conley has been the one constant since the band formed in Princeton, New Jersey in the late nineties. The lineup around him has shifted constantly, but the songwriting has stayed restless, moving from raw power chord driven punk to poppier arrangements to a sweeping three part concept series spanning Sound the Alarm, Under the Boards and Daybreak. Their ninth album, simply titled 9, came out in 2018 on Equal Vision Records.
