About
Scowl hit the hardcore punk scene hard out of Santa Cruz, California, and wasted no time making an impression. Fronted by the ferocious Kat Moss, the band dropped two EPs in their first year alone before releasing their debut full length How Flowers Grow on Flatspot Records in 2021. Their live reputation grew fast too, sharing stages with heavyweights like System Of A Down, Korn, Deftones, and Turnstile, and playing Coachella in 2023. In 2024, Scowl leveled up by signing to Dead Oceans, releasing the single Special and following it with their sophomore album Are We All Angels in April 2025. The lineup has seen some change, with founding guitarist Malachi Greene departing in late 2025, and Moss later announcing a touring break to recharge. Whether going full throttle live or recording with a new label, Scowl have consistently pushed hardcore into broader territory without losing the raw energy that made them stand out.
