About
Sebastian Plano is an Argentinian cellist, composer and producer working out of Berlin, and his 2019 album Verve earned him a Grammy nomination for Best New Age Album, which tells you a lot about the level he operates at. His sound sits in the neoclassical and contemporary classical space, shaped as much by cello as by electronic textures. The road to Verve was genuinely dramatic: a thief broke into his car in 2013 and stole the hard drives containing the finished recordings, forcing him to reconstruct the entire album from scratch over several years in Berlin. He also co wrote the soundtrack for David OReilly's game Everything with Ben Lukas Boysen, a release that made history as the first video game trailer to qualify for an Oscar. Signed to Universal Music's Mercury KX label, Plano has kept busy with film work too, contributing soundtracks to short films as recently as 2024.
