Seein' Red have been one of the Netherlands' most consistently uncompromising hardcore punk acts since 1988, carrying forward the spirit of Amersfoort band Lärm after that group dissolved. The trio, built around brothers Paul and Olav van den Berg alongside bassist Jos Houtveen, pair fast, grinding hardcore with openly communist politics and sharp lyrical bite. Their output is staggering: a discography stuffed with albums, EPs and splits across dozens of independent labels in Europe and beyond, from early releases on Power Of Volume and Urban Alert to later records on Ebullition and 625 Thrashcore. Decades in, they show no sign of slowing down. The 2023 album Past, Present, (In)tense arrived on Autoreverse, followed in 2024 by Refuse Resist on Armageddon and a split with No Way. Few bands with roots stretching back to the late eighties keep releasing records at this pace while staying this resolutely underground.
