About
SeeYouSpaceCowboy takes their name from a phrase that flashes up at the end of nearly every episode of the anime Cowboy Bebop, which tells you something about the kind of band they are. Formed in San Diego in 2016, they built a reputation for a ferocious blend of metalcore, mathcore and what they once cheerfully called sasscore, a term they invented by mashing together sass music and metalcore. Their debut full length, The Correlation Between Entrance and Exit Wounds, landed in 2019 to strong reviews and made Loudwire's list of the 50 best metal albums of that year. Their second album, The Romance of Affliction, followed in 2021, and their third, Coup de Grâce, arrived in 2024. Beyond the music, the band has been vocal about LGBTQ representation, veganism, anti racism and anti capitalism, weaving those politics into everything they do.
