About
Sheridan Smith made her name in British sitcoms, from The Royle Family to Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Gavin & Stacey, before moving into heavyweight TV drama. Playing Cilla Black in Cilla and taking on roles in The C Word, The Moorside and Four Lives earned her a reputation as someone who can do both comedy and serious, true story material. Along the way she picked up two Olivier Awards, a BAFTA and a National Television Award, plus an OBE for services to drama. Music runs through her career too. She has been a regular on the West End stage in musicals like Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde and Funny Girl. In 2017 she put out her debut album, Sheridan, which landed at number nine on the Albums Chart, and she followed it a year later with A Northern Soul.
