About
Shiran Wang is a Chinese pianist whose competition record speaks for itself: First Prize at the Fourth International Prokofiev Piano Competition in Ukraine, winner of the Seventh Arthur Rubinstein Youth Pianist competition in Poland in 2007, and the Fourth Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition in Moscow in 2008. She studied with professor Dang Thai Son and at the International Piano Academy Lake Como with Dmitri Bashkirov, Fou Ts'ong and William Grant Naboré. Her orchestral appearances span the North Czech Philharmonic, the Rome Symphony Orchestra, the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and several others. She has also devoted solo concerts entirely to single composers, including Rachmaninoff and Chopin in Hong Kong, and performed chamber music with the Škampa Quartet at the International Music Festival Český Krumlov. On record, she has plans to capture both Shostakovich piano concertos alongside conductor Maxim Shostakovich, as well as Rachmaninoff's Second and Third Piano Concertos with the Rome Symphony Orchestra.
