Few producers can claim they helped define two scenes at once, but Shy FX did exactly that. The London DJ and producer, real name Andre Williams, broke through in 1994 with "Original Nuttah", a ferocious ragga jungle cut featuring MC UK Apache that became a cornerstone of the jungle and drum and bass world. From there he kept pushing the sound outward, and his 2001 collaboration with T Power and vocalist Di, "Shake Ur Body", hit number 7 on the UK Singles Chart and pulled drum and bass into mainstream radio rotation. His own label, Digital Soundboy Recordings, founded in 2005, became a serious home for drum and bass, dubstep and jungle, releasing work from names like Skream, Benga, DJ Fresh and Breakage. Outside his label work, Shy FX produced tracks for Dizzee Rascal, remixed Plan B and Naughty Boy, and linked up with Ms. Dynamite and Kano on solo releases. In 2014 his soundsystem crew Rebel Sound, formed with Chase and Status and David Rodigan, won the Red Bull Culture Clash.
