About
Sibiria were a Swedish indie pop band out of Östersund, signed to the label Hybris. The trio was built around guitarists Martin Abrahamsson and Erik Laquist alongside singer Martin Hanberg, both Abrahamsson and Hanberg also playing in the band Vapnet. Drummer Eric Ramsey came on board in 2006, rounding out the lineup just as the band hit its stride. Their two albums, Norrlands Inland from 2005 and Inom Familjen from 2006, sit at the heart of their output, supported by a steady run of singles released mostly on CDR. The band sang in Swedish, giving their indie pop a distinctly Nordic feel that matched the remote, northern character of their hometown.
