About
Slovak power metal outfit Signum Regis have been quietly building a devoted following since bassist and songwriter Ronnie König founded the band in 2007. Their sound sits in melodic metal territory, with heavy, shredding guitars doing a lot of the work, and a rotating cast of guest vocalists who have shaped each record differently. König launched the project alongside veteran singer Göran Edman, and the self titled debut came out through Locomotive Records in 2008. Over the years the band has cycled through singers, with João "Jota" Fortinho stepping in as lead vocalist in 2019, just in time to front "The Seal of a New World", which picked up strong reviews worldwide. Their 2023 album "Undivided" was particularly well received across Europe, with Rock Hard France naming it album of the month. Christian metal themes run through their lyrics, giving the band a distinct identity within the broader power metal scene.
