Silent Theory started out in Moscow, Idaho, and built their name the hard way: through radio play and music videos that kept finding an audience. The breakthrough was "Fragile Minds", the lead single from their 2016 album Delusions, which charted on radio and became their first video to pass a million views. That same year Krave Radio named them Band of the Year, and the song topped Valley FM 89.5's indie tracks list. The lineup has shifted along the way. Founded in 2010 by drummer Mitch Swanger and vocalist Nick Osborn, with Swanger's brothers on lead guitar and bass, they've had a few singers pass through before Dakota Jerns took over the mic in 2014. Their debut Black Tie Affair came out on Turkey Vulture Records, and they later went fully independent. "Shaking Cages" climbed to number 22 on Billboard/BDS radio in 2021, the year they signed with Paul Crosby Management and released Hunt or Be Hunted. More recently they've kept the output steady with the Theoretically Speaking EPs and the album Tell Us How It Ends.
