About
Simcha is a grime rapper from Zutphen who raps in Dutch and pushes at the edges of the genre by pulling in sounds from a wide range of other styles. His debut album 'Grime to Shine' is a dense, energetic record full of dark production and features artists from very different corners of the music world, including De Sluwe Vos, Jahmel Barrett, G Raf, Jonathan Zondervan and Beau Renleo. The result is a collision of hard beats and strong storytelling wrapped in a fresh sound. Simcha is also part of MVP, short for Mannen Van Pleintje, a rap collective that grew out of a tight friend group in Deventer. The crew, which includes G Raf, Jahmel and Yung Pepper, moves freely between grime, trap and boom bap. Live, Simcha is known for high energy performances where the crowd rarely stands still.
