About
Sinne Eeg has built a reputation as one of Scandinavia's finest jazz vocalists, and the accolades back that up. The Danish singer and composer from Lemvig has won the Danish Music Awards prize for Best Vocal Jazz Album four times, picked up the Ben Webster Prize, and earned a Prix du Jazz Vocal from the Académie du Jazz in France. The Webster Foundation sums her up well: a true jazz singer with sensitivity, improvisational chops, maturity, and timing to spare. Eeg writes a good portion of her own material and mostly sings in English, though she has recorded in Danish too. Her touring has taken her across Europe, Japan, China and the United States, and she regularly plays La Fontaine in Copenhagen. One of her more memorable gigs came in Brussels, where she sang with the Danish Radio Big Band to mark the start of Denmark's presidency of the Council of the European Union.
