Sint Joris Kamerkoor

About

Sint Joris Kamerkoor is a chamber choir based in Amersfoort, where they perform at the Sint Joriskerk. Their repertoire gravitates toward Scandinavian choral music, a tradition they explore with genuine depth. The ensemble brings together contemporary composers like Kim André Arnesen and Ola Gjeilo alongside older Nordic folk traditions, finding the point where those two worlds connect. The music they programme tends to move between stillness and energy, with harmonies and timbres that feel distinctly northern. A recurring thread in their concert programming is the cycle of the seasons, used both as a natural phenomenon and as a reflection of human experience, tracing themes of birth, growth, love and loss. The result is choral music that works cinematically, conjuring landscapes and moods rather than simply filling a room with sound.
