Skrapz started out as a grime MC going by Skrapsta, part of the collective SLK alongside Flirta D, Van Damage and Lady Envy. When SLK folded in 2007 he shifted gears into rap, and that move paid off. A chance connection with Giggs, who had heard Skrapz on a track called "Thug Life" with mutual friend Killa Ki, helped put him on the map. The two ended up collaborating, and "Round Here" featuring Giggs became one of his most recognisable cuts. Over the years Skrapz built a reputation in UK rap through mixtapes like Skrapz Is Back and 80s Baby, and collaborations with Blade Brown, Kano, Nines, D Block Europe and Potter Payper. He has dropped videos through GRM Daily and Link Up TV, as well as his own YouTube channel BigBoySkrapz. His style sits firmly in the grittier end of UK rap, and his catalogue has kept a loyal following ticking over.
