About
Also known as: O. Jones, Oliver Jones, Skream!
Skream is one of the producers who basically wrote the dubstep rulebook, and he did it while still a teenager hanging around Big Apple Records in Croydon. His 2005 track "Midnight Request Line" became a landmark of the genre, with an epic key and tempo change that even minimal techno heavyweight Ricardo Villalobos rated. His 2006 debut album Skream! is still considered one of the most influential records of the early scene, and its tracks ended up on the teen drama Skins, the first time dubstep hit TV. He went properly big with Magnetic Man, the trio with Benga and Artwork, whose 2010 debut hit number 5 on the UK Albums Chart. He remixed La Roux, worked with Kelis and Chromeo, and ran radio shows on Rinse FM and BBC Radio 1. Since 2013 he has leaned hard into house, disco and techno, and in 2025 he teamed up with Benga again on a new collaborative project.
