FERN and Marty Mar make up Social Club Misfits, a Christian hip hop duo out of Miami who have been putting their stamp on the genre since 2011. They built a following through a string of free releases before their 2014 album Misfits 2 broke through on the Billboard 200 and landed in the top ten of both Gospel and Rap Albums charts. The duo signed to Capitol Christian Music Group in 2016 and rebranded from Social Club to Social Club Misfits at the same time, releasing The Misfit Generation EP under their new name. Their album Mood // Doom took home the 2020 Dove Award for Rap and Hip hop Album of the Year, a solid marker of where they stand in Christian hip hop. Their 2022 project everyone loves a come back story has picked up strong reviews, keeping the momentum going.
