About

Also known as: Soho Dolls, The Soho Dolls, The Sohodolls

Sohodolls are a London electropunk band who describe their own sound as a cross between "decaying and desperate glamour" and "savagery and sex", which tells you pretty much everything you need to know. Their debut album Ribbed Music for the Numb Generation came out in 2007 on A&G Records and landed them a 35 date UK headline tour, a Japanese release with bonus tracks, and placements on the American TV series Gossip Girl, where their song "Stripper" soundtracked a memorable scene with Blair Waldorf. After quietly disbanding in 2010, they crept back into public consciousness when "Bang Bang Bang Bang" went viral on TikTok in late 2020, bringing a whole new audience to their catalog. That momentum led to remasters of their key tracks, a charity single called "Period" released in partnership with Period Poverty, and fresh material including the EP Mayday. Their recent YouTube activity around "Bang Bang Bang Bang" in various remixed and remastered forms suggests the song still has plenty of life in it.
