Half of the now defunct duo City Morgue, SosMula (born Vinicius Sosa) brought a higher register vocal style that contrasted sharply with his partner ZillaKami's raspy delivery, creating something that critics described as "terrifying and entrancing at the same time". The pair carved out a niche in trap metal, blending 808s and hi hats with extreme metal samples and a relentlessly dark energy that drew comparisons to both Slipknot and DMX. Kerrang! called their sound an "unflinchingly hostile blend of trap and metal" careening toward misanthropy. Over their run from 2017 to 2024, City Morgue dropped four studio albums, including the final record My Bloody America. SosMula himself announced that their last album would close the book on the project, and so it did. Since the split in 2024, following label disputes and other tensions, SosMula's next moves remain to be seen.
