SpiritWorld call their sound "death western", and that label does a lot of heavy lifting. The Las Vegas group blends thrash and death metal with imagery pulled straight from the American West, a combination that sounds like it shouldn't work as well as it does. Formed in 2017, the band built their identity through three full length albums: Pagan Rhythms, Deathwestern, and Helldorado, each leaning into the dusty, violent mythology of frontier Americana while keeping the riffs absolutely brutal. Frontman Stu Folsom drives the concept with conviction, and the rest of the lineup, Randy Moore on lead guitar, Matt Schrum on rhythm, Nick Brundy on bass, and Preston Harper on drums, locks in tight behind him. It's a niche that feels genuinely theirs.
