About
Also known as: Bodzin, S Bodzin, Stepan Bozin
Stephan Bodzin calls himself a "melody man", and it shows. The Bremen producer is a classically educated musician who got his start composing music for European theaters before moving into techno, and DJ Hell once labelled his sound the "Bremen sound". He plays live as well as DJing, which sets him apart from plenty of his peers. He launched his own label, Herzblut, in 2006, and his debut album Liebe Ist followed on it in 2007. Powers of Ten arrived in 2015, then Boavista in 2021 on Afterlife. Along the way he has worked with Oliver Huntemann and Marc Romboy, put out records on Get Physical, Gigolo, Systematic and Datapunk, and remixed Depeche Mode, Booka Shade and The Knife. Tracks like Odyssee, Wir and Lila from the Powers of Ten era, plus the single Strand in 2017, show off that big, melodic style.
