Subtronics, the alias of Philadelphia based producer Jesse Kardon, has built one of the most distinctive identities in heavy bass music. His sound leans hard into dubstep, with intricate syncopation and wild sound design that set him apart from the crowd early on. The collab that really put him on the map was "Griztronics" with GRiZ, which went viral on TikTok and climbed to No. 9 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs in late 2019. He also founded his own label, Cyclops Recordings, in 2020, giving him full creative control over his output. His debut album Fractals hit No. 4 on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart in 2022, and his second album Tesseract peaked at No. 5 on the same chart in 2024. Along the way he has collaborated with acts like Zeds Dead, REZZ, and Alison Wonderland, headlined major festival stages, and launched his own annual festivals across North America. Kardon is married to fellow dubstep producer Sonya Broner, who records as Level Up.
