About
Super Sonic Jam grew out of the informal late night sessions held in the basement of Paradiso during the annual Super Sonic Jazz Festival. Those early gatherings were all about spontaneity, live creativity, and improvisation, with musicians and audience members playing together until the small hours. The concept found a more regular home from early 2024, when the events moved to Skatecafe and quickly became a sell out fixture. Each edition invites a different artist or collective to host the jam, which means the lineup and feel shifts every time. Past hosts have included London's Steam Down, Rotterdam's House of Knowledge, Haarlem's INI Movement, and the Amsterdam based projects Els Jam and Higherlife Jam. The variety of guests keeps things unpredictable, which is pretty much the whole point.
