About
Sweet Pill started as a senior project at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, and grew into one of the more exciting voices in emo and math rock coming out of Philadelphia. The five piece, fronted by vocalist Zayna Youssef alongside guitarists Jayce Williams and Sean McCall, bassist Ryan Cullen, and drummer Chris Kearney, built their sound through a run of singles before dropping their debut album Where the Heart Is in May 2022 on Topshelf Records. That record announced them properly, and a run opening for post hardcore act La Dispute across the US and Canada later that year put them in front of a much bigger crowd. They signed to Hopeless Records in September 2023 and have kept a steady stream of new music coming since, with singles like Starchild, Eternal, and There There showing a band that is very much still finding new ground.
