Synestia bring a crushing symphonic weight to deathcore that sets them apart from most acts in the genre. The Minneapolis band layers dense orchestrations over punishing metal, drawing comparisons to Worm Shepherd and Lorna Shore. Guitarist and multi instrumentalist Sam Melchior has been the constant creative force since the band formed in 2020, handling not just guitars but the sweeping orchestral arrangements that define their sound. Their 2022 debut album Maleficium put that vision on full display, and the 2024 EP The Poetic Edda pushed things further, even weaving in a reimagined version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Lately they have been busy with new music, dropping the Premonitions EP in 2025 along with official videos for tracks including The Mourning Star and Dies Irae.
