Tainy, born Marco Efraín Masís Fernández in San Juan, Puerto Rico, got his foot in the door of reggaeton at a remarkably young age when Luny Tunes put one of his demos on Mas Flow 2. From there he became one of the most in demand producers in Latin music, racking up credits with Wisin and Yandel, Janet Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez, plus three BMI Awards for songs including Wisin and Yandel's "Abusadora". His fingerprints are all over some of the biggest Latin albums of the last two decades, from Bad Bunny's YHLQMDLG and Un Verano Sin Ti to Rosalía's Motomami. In 2019 he co founded Neon16 alongside music executive Lex Borrero, pitching it as a talent incubator partnered with Interscope Records. His debut EP, Neon16 Tape: The Kids That Grew Up on Reggaeton, showed he could hold his own as a frontman too, featuring collaborations like "Nada" with Lauren Jauregui and C. Tangana. More recently he has been putting out music under his own name, with tracks alongside Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Young Miko, Arcangel, Myke Towers, and Jhayco.
