About
Also known as: Ishino Takkyu, Takkyu Ishino
Takkyu Ishino has been one of Japan's most recognisable figures in electronic music since the mid 1990s, operating as a DJ, producer, and singer out of Shizuoka. He is best known as a core member of Denki Groove, but his solo catalogue is substantial in its own right, stretching from the dub inflected techno of his debut "Dove Loves Dub" through the harder club sounds of "Throbbing Disco Cat" and on to the acid soaked "Acid Tekno Disko Beatz" in 2017. Along the way he has collaborated with WestBam, produced soundtrack work, and released DJ mix records that document his live sets at venues like Womb Tokyo. His reach spans compilations pulling together work from as far back as 1983, which gives you some sense of just how long he has been at it.
