Tássia Reis came up as one of the first female rappers in the new wave of Brazilian music, and she has steadily built a reputation that goes well beyond novelty. Born in Jacareí, she launched herself with a self titled EP in 2014, then followed up with her debut album Outra Esfera in 2016, which spawned national hits including No Seu Radinho and Se Avexe Não. Her 2019 album Próspera raised the stakes considerably, earning critical recognition from APCA as one of the best albums of that year. Her most recent album, Topo da Minha Cabeça, landed on the São Paulo Art Critics Association list of the 50 best albums of 2024, confirming that she is not just a pioneering figure but an artist very much at the top of her game.
