TaxiWars is a Belgian jazz band built around an unlikely pairing: Tom Barman, best known as the frontman of rock band dEUS, and Robin Verheyen, a Belgian saxophonist. Barman co founded the group in 2014 out of a genuine interest in jazz, and they wasted little time making an impression, playing Gent Jazz that same year before hitting Jazz Middelheim and the North Sea Jazz Festival shortly after. Their self titled debut came out in 2015, followed by Fever in 2016. The four piece band kept the momentum going with their third record, Artificial Horizon, released in 2019. There is a real contrast between Barman's rock roots and the jazz setting, which gives TaxiWars a distinct energy that sets them apart from the usual genre fare.
