About
Tchami is the Paris born DJ and producer who more or less invented future house, a term he coined himself and a genre he shares credit for pioneering with Oliver Heldens and Don Diablo. His sound draws from Kashif's bass lines and Todd Edwards' choppy vocal techniques, filtered through a distinctly spiritual lens. He performs as a priest figure, complete with clerical collar, altar visuals and stained glass, because for him the music is genuinely about spirituality, not just aesthetics. He co wrote the massive DJ Snake and Lil Jon hit "Turn Down for What", launched his own label Confession, and built the Pardon My French collective alongside DJ Snake, Mercer and Malaa. His debut album "Year Zero" arrived in 2020 and featured collaborators ranging from rapper Gunna to vocalist HANA. His remix of AlunaGeorge's "You Know You Like It" even landed on the soundtrack of the film "We Are Your Friends".
