About
Teyana Taylor has always been more than one thing at once. The Harlem native was choreographing Beyoncé videos at 15, quietly humming along to Kanye West's tracks in the studio until he asked her to lay down the intro and chorus for "Dark Fantasy," and co starring in the video for "Fade" in a performance that won her the MTV VMA for Best Choreography. That range has defined her whole career. Her 2020 record The Album broke into the Billboard 200 top ten and brought together Missy Elliott and Lauryn Hill under one roof, and her fourth album Escape Room landed a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album. On screen, her turn as Inez in A Thousand and One earned serious critical praise, and her role in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another went all the way to a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She also directed music videos and has a feature film, Get Lite, lined up for Paramount Pictures.
