About
The Ashgrove is a blues band from Alkmaar that got going in 2015, when four music lovers crossed paths and decided the blues was their next challenge. They weren't newcomers to playing, either. Each of them already had years of musical experience behind them before they teamed up. The name nods to the Ash Grove, a Los Angeles club opened in 1958 by Ed Pearl, then a 21 year old music fan, which grew into a kind of Mecca for the blues. The band's repertoire mixes well known blues numbers with lesser known ones.
